Step 1 to improve your diet: Replace all grains and flour with the wholemeal variant

No one needs to tell you anymore that white bread and its’ friends aren’t good for you. Luckily, wholemeal pasta has come a long way from the weird taste it used to have years back. And by simply switching out your usual spaghetti for the wholemeal kind, you increase your fiber intake significantly. The same goes for bread. Super easy to do, no new recipes needed. Just a different shelf in the supermarket.

Step 2 to improve your diet: Replace meal mix sauces with blended vegetables

Making a fruity tomato sauce to go with your wholemeal pasta can be as easy as blending a handful of tomatoes with some spices. Bored of tomatoes? Use bell pepper. Experiment with herbs. Using a blender, this is literally done in seconds. And you instantly get rid of all the preservatives and other less than desirable ingredients. How does it feel to be in control of what you eat?

Step 3 to improve your diet: Replace potatoes and rice with beans and quinoa

Beans and lentils are extremely versatile and way more nutritious than your average potato. Ever tried a bean puree? Or a bean burger patty? Or my personal favourite: lentil pasta*? And quinoa can easily fulfill the same role as rice as a source of carbs. But it will give you way more nutrients. You can make yourself a fancy quinoa breakfast, for example! Both beans and quinoa are so-called “super foods” and will improve your diet a lot.



I know the first steps you take to improve your diet can be daunting. But as someone who went down that path and cleared her hormonal acne in the process, I can tell you: It’s worth it! And today, not only am I healthier than I’ve ever been. My food is actually much tastier than before!
