How to pick the best quality argan oil

The first rule: Get 100% pure argan oil!

The so-called “INCI” name on the packaging should read “Argania Spinosa (Argan) kernel oil“. That’s it. Nothing else.

For hair , your argan oil should be cold-pressed and not roasted.  The roasted one is the for eating. The cold-pressed one still contains all the beneficial ingredients.

2. Go for "cold-pressed"

The argan oil should have a honey-like color. Think golden, but lighter than the golden-brown of the roasted version.

3. Check the color!

4. Scent or stink?

if your argan oil stinks like goat, it's not what you want! A good quality argan oil has a slight nutty scent, but it doesn't smell like stable.

5. fair trade & certified manufacturer

Fair trade =  support local economy in Morocco, especially females. Most of the argan oil production there is done by women.  Certified manufacturer = Better quality. Producing argan oil is a complex process and certified manufacturers know what they are doing.
