Homemade hand cream is so essential to have during these cold days! That is why just a few days after showing you my homemade hand cream without beeswax, there is another recipe coming your way today!
This recipe is definitely made for the colder time of year. First of all it contain ginger, which increases blood flow. This will help with cold hands or feet. Also, there is a little bit of cinnamon in it, to give it that christmassy touch.
You will need:
– 1 tablespoon of grated ginger
– 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
– 100 ml (or 3.4 oz) of oil (For winter creams I like macadamia or argan oil, but any oil should be fine here)
– 10 g (or 3.6 oz) of beeswax
How to make the homemade hand cream
This homemade hand cream recipe is super easy to make. Your “active time” spent preparing it will about 5 minutes. Nevertheless, it does include a little bit of waiting time, so make sure you can dedicate a little time to it.
First you want to slowly heat up the oil and add the ginger and cinnamon. This should stay on low heat for about 30 minutes. As you don’t need to keep stirring, so you can use this time for something else. After the waiting time, filter the oil through a strainer into another pot. (This will need to get warmed up again in a second.) Once you have done this, you can start adding the beeswax little by little and slowly heat it up until it melts. However make sure to not cook it.
Storage & Storage life
This homemade hand cream should be good for two to three months. As with all homemade beauty recipes, make sure to use clean equipment for preparing the recipe. And be aware that adding water at any point will drastically reduce the storage life. This lotion can be stored at room temperature.
I hope this cream helps you to keep warm hands in winter. Let me know if you try it!
